Français : Soulèvement des esclaves à la Jamaïque en 1759. Malgré la date dans la légende, l'image fait référence à la révolte d'esclaves de 1760. Illustration dessinée par Nicolas Lejeune pour Histoire d'Angleterre représentée par figures, de François-Anne David, publié en 1800.
English: The engraving is a visualization of white Europeans' fear of slave revolts. Although according to the legend the image is supposed to refer to an event in 1759 in Jamaica, it is most likely a depiction of Tacky's War 1760-1761.
